While its staggering that only 41% of American adults went to the dentist in 2003, it might be only more staggering that the percentage has dropped to 37% in 2010. Why is that?
Many appeals and revisions made it a priority to make sure child heath and dental care was taken care of and as well they should.
Health reform laws require that consumers buy health care plans that cover most everything excluding dental care and therefore excluding the insurers from paying said costs. Very few exceptions would have to involve ER visits for dental emergencies and medically necessary orthodontics procedures.
What happens to the children when they reach adulthood?
Regular dental upkeep and professional care goes in the rear view mirror?
Between 2000-2010 the Emergency Room visits for dental emergencies has doubled from one to two million. Ten years is along time to see steady increase but a blatant doubled increase is ridiculous and even more ridiculous considering the technical advances within those ten years.
HHS spokespeople promise a future health care package that will couple health and dental care more affordable for children that will parlay smoothly into adulthood. Enter Obamacare...
